Terms of Service
These terms govern access to Markovo’s document conversion service, website, API, CLI, and related tools.
Using Markovo
You must be legally able to accept these terms and may use Markovo only for files you own, or public pages and other content you are authorized to process. You are responsible for your account, credentials, API keys, OAuth client connections and consents, submitted content, public-page fetch instructions, Credit ceilings, short-lived asset links, and the results you choose to publish or rely on.
Service scope
PDF conversion is available as a production service. Authenticated Beta capabilities, including URL to Markdown, have narrower contracts and may change or be paused. URL Beta accepts only a public HTTPS page, does not use your browser session or bypass access controls, and requires explicit authorization before each fetch. Output quality varies with scans, handwriting, formulas, complex tables, unusual layouts, and page structure. Review the generated Markdown and quality report before using it in consequential workflows.
Credits, payments, and subscriptions
Credits estimate and meter conversion work. Prices are listed in USD before applicable taxes; you are responsible for any taxes that apply in your jurisdiction, and taxes, if any, will be shown at checkout. Development Checkout uses Creem Test Mode and creates no real charge. Checkout is live and processes real charges in the currency shown by Creem. Subscription plans renew automatically on the same cadence until you cancel, and you can cancel from the account billing area at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and Credits already granted to you remain subject to the plan’s rollover and expiry rules. One-time Credit packs are valid for 365 days, are consumed by nearest expiry first, and do not change your subscription plan. Unused Credits are not refundable except as described in the Refunds and disputes section or as required by law. Promotional or test Credits have no cash value. Creem processes payments on Markovo’s behalf; by completing a purchase you also agree to Creem’s terms governing payment processing.
Checkout recovery reminders
Before opening Checkout, you may separately choose whether Markovo can share your account email with Creem for abandoned Checkout recovery. The option is unchecked by default and is not required to buy. If you opt in and leave before paying, Creem may send automated reminders that return you to that Checkout. Your choice is recorded with the Checkout so Markovo can demonstrate whether email sharing was authorized.
Refunds and disputes
You may request a refund through support@markovo.net or the account billing area. Unspent one-time Credit pack purchases are eligible for full refund; partial refunds and subscription-related adjustments are reviewed manually and applied only after the account, entitlement, and ledger are reconciled. We do not provide automatic compensation for ambiguous payment, subscription, or Credit states; those cases are resolved through the manual review process. Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled through Creem and the card network. If a dispute results in a reversal, the corresponding Credits or subscription entitlements will be adjusted without overriding the provider record. Acceptable use
Do not use Markovo to violate law, intellectual-property rights, privacy, export controls, or another person’s security. Do not upload malware, probe the service, bypass limits, automate abusive traffic, resell access without permission, or use the service to create unlawful or harmful content.
Availability and changes
We may change limits, Beta capabilities, supported formats, retention, or the service to protect users and maintain reliability. We may suspend access for abuse, security risk, unpaid charges, or material breach of these terms.
Your content and our software
You retain rights in your source files and converted output. You grant Markovo the limited permission needed to process, store temporarily, and deliver that content. Markovo’s software, branding, interface, and documentation remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law and open-source licenses where stated.
Disclaimers and responsibility
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, Markovo does not guarantee uninterrupted service or perfectly accurate conversion. Neither party excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. For other claims, Markovo’s aggregate liability will not exceed the amount actually paid for the service in the preceding three months.
