Files to words
Video to Word Converter
Turn the spoken soundtrack of a video into a Word document. The Video to Word Converter is useful when you want to review a webinar, edit an interview or share a lesson transcript.
Free: 25 MB per file. Starter and Pro: 50 MB per file. Maximum 60 minutes per file under the currently active limits.
- Choose your source and export format.
- See the Credit estimate and processing progress.
- Read the result and download your file.
Your result is ready
What becomes the Word document
Speech from the selected audio track becomes timed text in a .docx file. The original video is not embedded in the document, and silent visual content does not become a description. Charts, slides and captions visible only inside video frames are outside this transcription workflow. If the source is a slide deck, upload that document through a document tool instead.
Prepare a transcript for an editor
Open the resulting DOCX to revise paragraphs, add comments and apply your own document styles. Keep the timestamps when reviewers need to find the matching passage in the source video. Check names, statistics and statements made during cross-talk. The result is a transcript of audible speech, not an automatically written article or a polished set of meeting minutes.
Separate the upload allowance from the price
A large MP4 may contain only a few seconds of speech, while a small compressed recording may run for an hour. Both size and duration must fit the account allowance. Credits follow the verified audio duration, with the estimate shown before conversion. Downloading Word, TXT and Markdown from one completed job reuses its result and does not multiply the transcription charge.

This illustrative excerpt shows the readable export shape, not a speech-recognition accuracy benchmark. Your output follows your source.

Free: 25 MB per file. Starter and Pro: 50 MB per file. Maximum 60 minutes per file under the currently active limits. Sizes use binary units: 1 MB = 1,048,576 bytes. Sign in for the Free allowance; a guest preview is not the same as a Free account.
The planned video tiers are Free 200 MB / 1 hour, Starter 700 MB / 2 hours and Pro 2 GB / 2 hours (2 GB = 2,147,483,648 bytes). They remain unavailable until large-file cost and reliability checks pass. The active upload allowance and estimate determine what you can submit today.
Free includes 25 Credits per month. Starter is $3.99 per month with 200 Credits, and Pro is $7.99 per month with 500 Credits. Paid plans do not remove file validation or the need for a sufficient balance. See pricing and Credits for the current catalog.
Estimate, processing and downloads
Media costs 0.5 Credit per measured minute, with a 0.3 Credit minimum. A 10-minute recording needs 5 Credits; 60 minutes needs 30 Credits. Free includes 25 monthly Credits, about 50 minutes before other use. A maximum-size allowance does not grant extra Credits.
Upload time depends on the connection and source size. Processing also depends on duration, page complexity and queue load; the estimate and task progress are indicative, not a fixed completion promise. Large uploads can resume missing parts. Failed processing releases reserved Credits; a successful task settles once.
Reader displays the same canonical result for TXT, Word and Markdown. Switching exports does not start another conversion. DOCX supports editable headings, lists, tables, links and supported result-owned images. TXT keeps readable text and table cells. The Word exporter accepts up to 1 MB of canonical Markdown, 2,000 content blocks, 512 table cells and 32 images, with 2 MB per image and 8 MB of image data; use the Markdown image bundle for larger documents.
Retention and review
Free results are retained for 1 hour, Starter for 7 days and Pro for 30 days after completion. The task shows the exact expiry. Download before it expires, or delete it early from History. Temporary sources are removed after processing or expiry; a guest-preview original can remain available until its preview session expires. Review uncertain words, table order and important figures before reuse. Read the privacy policy for processing details.
Video to Word questions
Will the Word document contain the slides from the video?
No. This tool transcribes the audio track; it does not extract slide images or read text visible only in video frames.
Can I download an old .doc file?
Word export produces .docx. Open it in a compatible editor and use that editor’s Save As options if you need another format.
Does downloading another format spend more Credits?
No. Markdown, Word and TXT downloads reuse the saved conversion, with one Credit settlement. A new source conversion is a separate job.
How long can I download the result?
Results are retained for 1 hour on Free, 7 days on Starter and 30 days on Pro. The job shows its exact expiry. You can delete stored files earlier from History.
What happens if conversion fails?
An unsuccessful conversion releases frozen Credits. If a release needs repair, the task shows its recovery state. Retrying a download does not create a second conversion.
